Natural gas - An environmentally friendly energy source

The Gönyü power plant has been designed as a combined cycle power plant with an efficiency of 58%. The high efficiency results from the combination of a gas turbine system and a steam turbine system. In addition, natural gas is an extremely environmentally friendly energy source with comparatively modest CO₂ emission levels. It is almost entirely sulphur-free, and it contains neither fluorine nor chlorine.
