The German, Munich-based E.ON Energie is the leading privately-owned energy provider in Europe with 15 million customers. The company employs nearly 45,000 people in the Central European electricity and gas sectors. Energy supply is a service provided to customers primarily on the local level. The Hanover-based E.ON Kraftwerke operates the traditional thermal power plants of E.ON Energie AG. The company has about 5,000 employees and generates more than 50 billion kWh of power annually. E.ON Kraftwerke is committed to producing electricity reliably and in a way that spares natural resources by using cutting-edge technologies. E.ON Kraftwerke also plays a leading role in the establishment of renewable energy production facilities. The main focus in this regard is on the construction and operation of biomass-fired power plants and wind power plants. E.ON Kraftwerke set up its Hungarian subsidiary E.ON Erőművek in May 2006.

 

E.ON Erőművek Kft.

 

E.ON Erőművek Kft. is a fully-owned subsidiary of E.ON Kraftwerke GmbH. The Budapest-based company was registered on May 18, 2006. E.ON Erőművek will develop and operate several power plants in Hungary, each with a capacity of hundreds of megawatts (MW). The brutto 433-MW facility in Gönyü, which will operate at an efficiency of over netto 58% thanks the best available state-of-the-art technologies used.
